AYLA DESIGN
By design, this car does not have a significant difference when compared to the previous generation. Some changes only happened to the front and back of this car.
At the front, the headlamps have now implemented LEDs with a new lamp design.
It gives off a sporty and aggressive feel compared to the previous generation. The front bumper also looks firmer compared to the previous facelift version.
The grille with chrome accents also adds to the luxurious impression of this city car. Now at the bottom of the bumper there are two fog lamps which use the LED model. This change has made the latest generation of Ayla appear better than the old version.
On the other hand, it is almost the same as the previous version, only the wheels used now look more attractive with the combination of black and silver dual tones.
The back which we think is much more attractive than the previous version. For the previous version, the rear of the car looks monotonous, but in this latest generation the rear design looks more sporty and very cool. Honestly, we prefer the rear design of this car compared to the previous version.
In this latest model Ayla really looks sporty from behind. The design of the taillights has changed, being cooler than the previous generation.
INTERIOR DESIGN
After discussing the exterior, what about the interior? Only the head unit, seat, steering wheel and trim parts are different.
The rest, there are no significant changes from this car. The interior is still the same as the old version, only now it uses a 2DIN touch screen unit which makes it more modern.
The speedometer display also still uses the old model, only on the steering wheel which is given an additional setting button for audio from the head unit. AC button, mirror button, ac outlet are all exactly the same.
The seats now look like racing seats with pieces that we think are pretty cool too. The door trim also uses a color that matches the seats, no longer black like the old version.
Regarding storage space, this car still has a lot of storage space. It's on the door, glove box, near the steering wheel, under the dashboard, and the center console near the handbrake.
DAIHATSU AYLA SEAT
The seat position of the new model is also more comfortable than the previous generation. This is because the foam seats are thicker and the seat cut design is more sporty as if it hugs the body tightly. Ah, so I want to sit down for a long time.
The second row seats now have a more sloping position, giving a more relaxed sitting effect than the first version of Ayla, which has a more upright sitting position.
At the back, there is now a luggage tray which can be used to cover items in the trunk and put things on the tray. The refresh is quite good, we think a tray like this is important enough to give this car a neat impression.
What about the features of this car? Daihatsu now provides several additional features such as back sonar at the rear for the X and R types, dual SRS airbags, side impact beams, immobilizer lock, rear stabilizer, anti-spare clutch pedal which is useful for breaking the brake pedal when the car has an impact.
SECURITY FEATURES
Regarding safety, this car has two point airbags, child safety lock and seat belt reminder. Although this car is a small car, the engine capacity used is almost the same as the MPV in Indonesia.
As if to truly understand what consumers want, Daihatsu gave birth to this latest generation of Ayla with a new engine.
ENGINE AND FUEL
In the first generation, Ayla only comes with an engine with a capacity of 998, 3 cylinders with 64 hp with a choice of 5 speed manual transmission.
Now, Daihatsu Ayla comes with a 1,197 cc, 4 cylinder, 88 hp engine with a choice of manual and automatic transmissions. These changes and refreshments of course bring fresh air to Daihatsu sales. Because of this, the sales of this car are increasing every year.
Regarding fuel consumption, Daihatsu Ayla is one of the cars that has very good fuel consumption. As an illustration, this car can travel 15-20 km for one liter of gasoline. Of course this is also balanced with the driving style and quiet road conditions.
The fuel consumption of each car certainly cannot be used as a benchmark, because every driver has a driving style that will never be the same.
DAIHATSU AYLA SHORT REVIEW
When starting the engine, the first impression is no different, just like the old version. It's just that once the gear goes, the power supplied by this 1,200 cc engine feels quite full.
The handling of this car is also increasing. So it is better to be invited to bulldoze corners even though the conditions are quite fast. The symptoms of anxiety are still felt, but it's better than the first generation. The smooth and smooth character of the engine makes driving quite comfortable.
The sitting position provided by the front seats feels slightly elevated. This can only be caused by thicker coating foam. Sitting in the second row, also feels quite relaxed. This is due to the seat position that collapsed more than the first generation, which had a seat with a solid sitting position. Head and leg room has no difference, it's the same.
The sound quality produced by standard audio feels better. The informative convenience of this touchscreen head unit makes it easy to organize your favorite tunes via a Bluetooth network that can be connected to a smartphone.
The sound control button on the steering wheel also adds to the impression of luxury and provides comfort while driving.
The rest, this car still feels the same as the previous generation. Our advice is, if you are a person who likes to drive a little bit go for this car with manual transmission. The power delivered by the manual transmission of the 1,200 cc engine is better than the automatic transmission.
We think the automatic transmission is quite slow when it kicks in. So come back to your taste and driving style of all people.
